Who Am I?
My name is Tony, and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Regenerative Medicine at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. My journey in science began at a young age, fueled by an insatiable curiosity about how the world works. Over the years, this curiosity has grown into a passion for chemistry, especially the intricate and fascinating world of organic molecules.
My Mission
Throughout my academic journey, I have seen many students struggle to grasp complex chemistry concepts. Traditional learning methods often fail to make these subjects engaging and accessible. My mission is to change that by integrating gamification into education. I believe that learning should be an adventure, full of excitement and discovery, rather than a chore.
What I Do
At Masters of the Universe, I design and develop interactive mini-games that turn challenging chemistry concepts into fun and engaging experiences. My latest project, Chemera: To Alpha Centauri, is just one example of how I aim to make learning organic chemistry an enjoyable journey. This game was funded by S.W.O.L. Grant at Maastricht University. The game was inspired and developed by my colleagues, Francis, Ivo, Matt, Shahzad who founded TASR labs. By combining educational content with game mechanics, we strived to help students of all ages master chemistry in a way that is both effective and entertaining.
Why Gamification?
Gamification leverages the power of play to enhance learning. It transforms mundane tasks into compelling challenges, making complex subjects like organic chemistry more approachable. Through interactive mini-games, I aim to:
